Asylum seekers


For those of you from other parts of the world, The Australian Government has established an expert panel lead by Angas Houston to formulate the best way forward for processing people seeking asylum in Australia. Some asylum seekers (originating from a range of countries) risk their lives by traveling to Australia on boats organised by people smugglers - largely from Indonesia. Over 90 people have drowned in recent weeks as two boats sink before reaching Australia. The major Australian political parties cannot agree on a policy.
